Ideally hair should be about 1/4 inch (roughly two weeks of growth) for effective waxing. If hair is longer, we may trim it; if too short we’ll reschedule. Trim gently at home and avoid shaving three weeks before your appointment.

Some discomfort is normal, but pain varies with sensitivity, hair coarseness, and experience. Our technicians use fast, gentle technique, soothing pre-wax care, and post-wax cool compresses. Take ibuprofen beforehand and avoid caffeine to reduce sensitivity; waxing often becomes less uncomfortable over time.

Clean, dry skin helps. Avoid moisturizers, heavy creams, or tanning immediately before your appointment. Exfoliate gently 48 hours prior and avoid sun exposure or chemical peels the week before. If taking blood-thinning medications or retinoids, notify us so we can advise and adapt treatment.

Most clients return every 3 to 6 weeks depending on personal hair growth. Regular appointments every four to five weeks keep the bikini line neat and can result in finer regrowth and easier removal with less discomfort over time.

Waxing can sometimes lead to ingrown hairs, especially if hair curls back under the skin. Prevent them by exfoliating regularly, keeping the area moisturized, avoiding tight synthetic clothing immediately after waxing, and using gentle chemical exfoliants. We can also treat and safely extract stubborn ingrowns.

Bikini waxing is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but increased skin sensitivity and blood flow can heighten discomfort. Inform your technician and your healthcare provider about any complications. Many clients wait until after the first trimester, and we’ll adapt technique for comfort and safety.
